Custom web development without the hassle: WordPress, Laravel and Symfony

Is your WordPress site hitting limits (plugins, performance, custom features)? Or do you need something beyond a website — think portals, dashboards, or API integrations.

I build maintainable solutions in WordPress and PHP (Laravel/Symfony), and I explain it in plain language. You focus on your business, I handle the tech.

Is this a fit for you?

This is a great fit if:

  • you don’t want technical hassle and you want a reliable specialist who just gets it done.
  • your website or app is important for leads/revenue and you want one experienced developer taking ownership.
  • you value clear communication and honest advice, without buzzwords.
  • you’d rather invest in quality and continuity than the cheapest option with hidden risks.

Not the best match if:

  • you want a big agency with layers of project management.
  • you only need pixel-perfect design work; I focus on engineering. I can bring in a designer/SEO specialist from my network if needed.
  • your budget is extremely tight and price is the only driver.
  • you require 100% on-site presence. I work mostly remote.

What I can help you with

  • Custom WordPress plugins, themes, Gutenberg blocks (the WordPress block editor) and WooCommerce extensions.
  • Laravel/Symfony applications portals, dashboards, internal tools and custom modules.
  • Integrations & APIs connecting your site/app with CRM, accounting or inventory systems (REST APIs: systems exchanging data).
  • Performance optimization faster loading, fewer errors and better Core Web Vitals (Google’s performance metrics).
  • Troubleshooting & audits bugfixes, security checks and cleaning up technical debt.
  • Working with teams joining an existing codebase as an interim developer, code reviews and knowledge transfer.

Symfony or Laravel? I use both. For complex, long-lived applications I often pick Symfony; Laravel is great when you want to iterate quickly. We’ll choose what fits your goals and team.

Bonus: because of my DevOps background, I think about deployment (getting things live), monitoring and security from day one — so it doesn’t just work on your laptop, but also runs reliably in production.

What you get when working with me

No hassle, just results. Here’s what you can expect:

  • A fast website/app I aim for pages around ~2 seconds or less, depending on content, tracking and hosting.
  • Reliability & security clean code, no shortcuts. And if I also manage your hosting, I’ll take care of updates and backups.
  • Custom work without bloat exactly what you need, built to stay maintainable as you grow.
  • Clear communication short lines, clear agreements and regular updates.
  • One point of contact if you want after launch I can also handle hosting and maintenance, for example via managed WordPress hosting and email hosting.
  • Freelancer flexibility direct contact, quick iteration and full focus on your project.

Examples of my work

A few examples of what I build (sometimes anonymized):

WordPress: custom plugins and WooCommerce extensions

New functionality without bloating your site. For example checkout logic, integrations with external systems, or custom Gutenberg blocks.

Symfony: portals and internal tools

Symfony apps built for the long run: clear structure, tests where it matters, and code that’s easy to hand over to another team.

Integrations: connecting systems

Integrations between WordPress/web apps and external services (CRM, accounting, payments), including logging and error handling.

How I work

  1. Quick intake goals, context and deadline.
  2. Plan + estimate I turn scope into something concrete and give a clear estimate of approach and cost.
  3. Build in iterations I usually work with a staging environment so you can review safely.
  4. Launch + aftercare after delivery I can keep supporting maintenance, further development and (if you want) hosting.

Frequently asked questions

What does the development process look like?

First we discuss your goals and requirements (quick call or email). Then I share a plan or estimate. Once we agree, I start building — usually in a staging environment. I keep you updated, we test together, and then I deploy it to production. After launch, I can also support you with maintenance or further development.

Do you work hourly or fixed price?

Both. For ongoing work or complex projects I usually work hourly. For clearly scoped projects we can agree a fixed price. You’ll get an upfront estimate so there are no surprises.

Do you offer maintenance and support after launch?

Yes. For WordPress, that can be through maintenance or (if you want) my managed WordPress hosting. For custom applications, we can agree on support and ongoing development (for example a small monthly retainer or a prepaid hours bundle).

What if I want to take over or switch later?

No lock-in. You get access to the code and documentation, and I can help with handover if needed. If you later want to work with another team, that should be straightforward.

Can you also help with hosting, domains and email?

Yes. I can handle hosting and maintenance, manage your domain, and provide email via my email hosting. Need design or SEO as well? I can bring in someone from my network, or collaborate with your existing partner.
